Rep Power: 0 | | Rear end accident- person in front slammed on brakes cop issued ticket for failure to control speed? I was going 15 mph. in a 30. Person in front had no license and no insurance proof. Claimed whiplash- typical trash. But she 100% caused the accident-- slammed on brakes in middle of road for no reason! claimed she was turnoign but did not even veer into turn lane>? - I am sure she will now claim on my inusrance medical pain and suffering , car damage etc-- car was a early 90s taurus with damage all over to start with. Cop issuing ticket never even questioned me or driver as to what happend before writing the accident report!-- ANy recourse for me or am i stuck paying for this con- artists scam ? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Rear end accident- person in front slammed on brakes Doesn't matter the details of the hit - you should have been far enough behind her that you shouldn't have hit her. I know that really sucks, but that's the way it is. It's 100% your fault because you were too close behind her. You should always be far enough behind someone that if they slammed on their brakes at any given moment, you wouldn't hit them.
I know it's stupid. |

Rep Power: 10 | | Re: Rear end accident- person in front slammed on brakes Sounds very unfair....
The unlicensed driver should not have been on the road. And if they did not have insurance proof, maybe they don't even have insurance. But if they did, I'm sure their insurance company would refuse to pay any damages to either party as the driver was not legally authorized to drive, especially if their name is not on the policy. What a mess....
