I was going to an event at "The Shedd".
Driving down the street, I took at right into a parking lot. Immediately after the turn to the parking lot was a sign that clearly read "Parking for The Shedd only".
I parked.. there were definitely no signs that I came across informing me that in fact the parking lot belonged to a private fee-based parking service.
Likely there was one sign somewhere in the parking lot informing me of this fact, however I did not cross paths with it, and I didn't not see it from a distance as it was dark outside.
The company now wants me to pay them a fee of $30, because "I agreed to a contract by parking in the lot"... however they did not make a sufficient effort to make me aware of any contract. Will this hold legally? What do you think?
