Rep Power: 0 | | Tree Removal... Is the stump City or Landlord? I am a renter. A very old, large, and dangerous tree has been removed from the curb area... it was right on the corner of the driveway and over-hanging the street. The city removes the tree... the city lets the 1 foot stump remain. If you drive up to the front of the house to park, you run the risk of taking out the running board of your car. When the tree was there... you could not possibly hit it unles you are are drunkin fool. But my dad hit this stump while pulling up to the curb. It was covered with leaves. Who is responsible for my father's damage? The sidewalk is in such a state of disrepair. The tree has uprooted the sidwalk in two places along a 7 foot length. The sidewalk is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Help me to understand who I need to go to first... the city, the landlord, or is it my father's fault for hitting it? (although I don't see how). Thanx for your help.
