here's the story
I slipped and fell at work the day after a major ice storm. I was instructed by my manager to take trash out bacause he didn't want to do it later. There is a water spout that pours water of the roof, right under dumpsters. There was a considerable amount of ice and no salt in building. I slipped and broke my left leg. I was diagnoised first of a sprain a week later returned to hospital to be diagnoised fracture. compensation claim was filed.
my question is this, could I receive workman's comp, and sue for slip and fall?
Is there someone liable for the negligence?
the building I work at is rented and owners are responsible for upkeep and snow removal.
I will be paid for work missed, but who pays for my pain and suffering?
please help. |

Sometimes it is possible to recover both worker's comp and for personal injury. But not against your employer - there has to be a responsible third party (like the premises owner). Consider having your situation reviewed by a local personal injury lawyer. |

Despite all the funny commercials and jingles that say otherwise, the main purpose of insurance companies is to make money. To that end, insurance adjusters will do everything they can to minimize their responsibility to their clients. And it isn’t just the insurer of the person responsible for the accident; with Florida’s no-fault-insurance laws, your own insurance company will fight just as hard to avoid having to pay the costs for your injuries. |

please help. | Definitely contact a Personal Injury Lawyer. The law does limit the amount of time you have for your claim. So time is important. |

Certainly, someone has to answer for your pain and suffering. The building owner or proprietor may be held liable for damages by filing a case of slip and fall against him.
