The leader of our church organization has been ill for sometime & some hirelings in leadership positions have been misleading the people into thinking he is healthy to maintain their position & keep power.
A letter was obtained from our leaders son, the letter is from the leader's doctor & it is addressed... "To Whom it May Concern:". The letter states that the church leader has significant alzheimers & is not competent to make administrative decisions.
My question is... Are there legal ramifications to circulating this letter? Would we be in violation of any privacy laws to make the letter public on a church blog sites? Note: the son gave us verbal consent to do so when he gave us the letter.
I have reviewed the HIPAA laws & believe they pertain only to healthcare providers & insurance companies. Since the letter was recieved from a family member, I believe that it would be okay to circulate it. Any experts out there that can clear this up for me?? | | Domain Names Sponsor |  | |
