Advice Needed PLEASE - Ex Boss is harassing me and accusing me of stealing

This is the situation: I worked for a woman who owns her own dog walking petting sitting service. I happened to call in sick on a Wednesday and got her voice mail so I left a mess. I get a call about noon and she asks me "Can't you come in a do a few clients?" I told her if I could I would but I was up vomiting all night (ate a bag burger) and I would definately be in Thursday. She say's "let me call you back and see what I can do". She calls back within minutes and tells me that another girl can cover 2 of my clients but she cannot drop off the keys until weekend as she lives in another town. I said "no problem". Then she says "can't you just take something for your stomach. You know you always do this 2 me" I told her I have not called in sick in MonthsThen she tells me "Why dont you just go see your mom and come back 2 work on Monday" (My mom is terminally ill and lives in PA). Anyway I felt like she was trying to punish me for calling in sick by not letting me work Thurs and Friday. I told her to keep the keys and I will not be back. She called back a few minutes later (I did not take the call). all of a sudden the other girl can drop the keys off and I can come in Thurs and Fri. That made me even more upset and made me more so believe she was trying to punish me. Anyway the calls kept coming and she kept leaving mess. after mess. I mailed her her Co. t-shirts back with a note stating how I felt and for her to please stop calling to just let it be. Iwent to visit my mom and when I came home there were about a dozen mess. I called and left a mess. for her telling her to please stop calling. Well I get a mess. saying that I owe her $60 - This now is another story - In Nov/Dec a client of ours pays in cash. He leaves it in an env. I beleived I picked up the env. and put it in a bag that holds the clients keys which I drop off on the weekends. She said she never got it. To please look for it. I looked and looked and did not find it. So we kinda came to the conclusion I must have dropped it/lost it and we would split it. She would take $60 out of my pay. Ok no problem. I still took care of that clients pet up until the time I quit. Now she is saying he thinks I owe her the other $60 because I stole it. I did not steal anything. She says if I do not send her the $ by next week the client (who supposedly is a lawyer - but I cannot find his name when I did a search @NY bar assoc.) will send me legal papers. Well today I get another mess. saying she did not get the $ and if she does not receive it he will proceed with the papers. She also said something about
another client she was talking to and the client thinks I need mental help (I don't know what she is telling these people or she is just making things up). She says I'm acting like a 16 year old, that I'm a coward, that they were taking up a collection for my family and now there gonna take that $ and go out to diner plus other nasty statements. I am so sick of her games. I was told that I should not give her the $ as that would be an admission of guilt and who's to say she won't say I stole from someone else. How could the client sue me? Wouldn't it have to be her who would sue me? I'm just all confused, upset,annoyed and not sure what to do. I live in NY and don't know what I can or should do? THANK YOU
