Rep Power: 0 | | Screwed Dealing with friends and relatives, you will get screwed.
I have a former best friend that was going to take a motor out of a Ranger pickup truck and replace it with a rebuilt one.
I provided him with $1500 to purchase the motor and do the repairs, neither of us thought it would take more than this. He obtained a motor with a 90 day return, installed it, discovered it would not work and returned.
He has had the truck for just over 1 year now, and has done no more.
He has taken my money and also has my truck. I however still have the title.
No documentation was made between us, its just a good o boy agreement.
Do i have any recourse now?
Would like to get money back, i know i can get the truck. I have a tow bar.
Now where is the spell check? |

Sounds like you both meant well but the snag of having an engine not work the first time around has cost you this friendship.. With only verbal agrements between the both of you, getting the truck back is likely to be your best case senario. You have the title so there is almost no way to prevent you from taking the truck.
If you had a contract, you may have been entitled to your money or he may have even been able to collect additional fees or apply a mechanics lean until he received them. But with no contract, I'd just go get the truck.

Clasione, I would have to agree with you. Without a contract the best case scenario would be to get the truck. | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
