They just raised the cigarette tax here in Iowa. One dollar per pack and Ten dollars a carton. When you check out at the store the local sales tax is also added. That is- They are taxing the tax? Legal? I think its an outrage and should be not only be illegal but unconstitutional! |

I think they are supposed to tax only the untaxed amount.. That is the price of the cigarettes before the tax is added should be taxable....
Yea - sucks though..... They are raising the tax here in New York too.....
