Rep Power: 0 | | black balled in a small community I'm currently recieving child support, but my exhusband is always trying to take me back to court to emancipate our daughter for stupid reasons. The problem is I can't afford another lawyer and he knows this. Would it be possible for my daughter, who is 19 and attending college fulltime, request that child support be payed directly to her?
also.....His attorney has taken this divorce very personal, has sabotaged other court hearings that had nothing to do with the divorce ( he is also a prosecutor)....i've tried to speak with an attorney in the surrounding area but no one will return my calls or will hang up on me when they hear my name...is it possible that this attorney has black balled me?

Rep Power: 0 | | almost in your shoes...... when I say almost, I literally mean almost. I have a 5 yr old daughter. Her father pays no child support, but can afford a crap lawyer. I am in the militery so we can all guess my pay. But from what I know from MY state laws, YES!!! Your 19 yr old daughter can ask for childsupport from her biological father. But HE will only have to pay from her birth to age 18. So as far as HIM paying for current schooling, or anything like that, its a no-go. ALSO- If he paid YOU monies prior to her being 18, example: age 12 ( like for the last 6 years), SHE your daughter can only get back pay from birth to age 12. I dont know if your state laws are consistent with mine, but I hope so. I wish you and your daughter all the luck and blessing you need. AND thank you, yes thank you, for being her mother through hard times, NO MATTER WHAT. a military mama | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
