Default Parole revoked for suspect in August kidnapping

Parole revoked for suspect in August kidnapping

published: 03/11/05

The state Board of Pardons and Paroles on Thursday revoked the parole of a Sioux Falls man accused of an August kidnapping.

The board cited four conditions of Steven Curtis Anderson's parole that were violated, including kidnapping and sexual contact, said board member Michael McGreevy.

In 1989, Anderson was arrested for entering a woman's home after cutting the phone lines. Police found a handgun, handcuffs, wire cutters, a camera, a pry bar and a ski mask when they arrested him.

Anderson was convicted in 1990 of first-degree burglary and being a habitual criminal. He was sentenced to 100 years in prison but was paroled in 2000.

In August, Anderson allegedly offered a woman a ride home and then assaulted her, telling her he would not take her home. He eventually did drive her home. The woman suffered minor scrapes and bruises.

Post Deploy Medical Technology

I plead for use of well established Medical knowhow to test, counsel, treat and then evaluate people before they are paroled. We can dramatically reduce if not eliminate altogether, the incidence of failed paroles by simply using Mental Health professionals in our midst.
