Exclamation need advise

I posted on another forum, but did not get any response. Everything is civil, so maybe I can get some input here. Any response is appreciated.

My husband had a very successful business for 30+ years. Issues arose in both our lives, family deaths, teenager issues, etc., and he became ill. While focusing on our personal issues and his health, we trusted long time employees to take care of the business. Big mistake. To summarize, the plug has been pulled on our lives and we have lost everything. The bank got misinformation of my husbands illness and shut us down. They called for immediate repayment of the line of credit, pulled our inventory, froze all accounts, stopped paying auto debits, etc. etc.. When we realized what was happening, we contacted our attorney and long time friend (another mistake). We were under the impression he was filing injunctions and properly representing us. He has done nothing. Our vehicles were reposed, foreclosed on the house, and supposedly the DA (not official info) is going to issue warrants. I am trying to get my husband medical help, we have absolutely no income and do not know where to turn. There are far too many details to post here. We have documents proving the bank was wrong and could recover a large portion of what we lost. We have done nothing wrong except wait for guidance from a lawyer we should have realized not to trust when he told us in the beginning "do not answer the door, do not answer the phone, do not get served". But our focus at the time was on my husbands health. We have spoken with another attorney who said we do have a case against the bank, but he wanted a very large retainer which we do not have. We just do not know where to turn from here.
