my sister in laws boyfriend is suing me for deformation of character, due to me getting some info about him, and telling her sister...who inturn told her, that then came back to me as a totally wrong story.... Can my defense be Hearsay ?? He is not the most credible ppl in the world...so If I discredit him, will that show that his character was deformed already....and how can a deformed character be more deformed??( if you get me..) Also, he is not suing the person who told me the story, nor is he suing the person who told his girlfriend, he is only suing me, so, can my defence also be that I passed on what I heard and didn't start it ?? And that the person who started the story(truth) should be sued for deformation of character. Some advice would be appreciated. |
