so heres the scoop.. i got caught with a stolen regestration sticker on my car. i wasnt driving. i was sitting in my car in front of my house. (not on driveway).. they took my plates but didnt tow. they arrested me and put me in jail for about one night.. my parents then bailed me out (500 dollars to get me out). so my question is.. how seriuos is this crime.. i know its a felony, cuz i was brought to jail. but considering the fact that i spoke to about 4 cops about this and several inmates... and the bail wasnt as high as others i spoke with.. they said the most ill get is probation.. i currently am in the prosses of getting my car smoged and registraion paid for. getting my liscence back. and have gotten a letter of "forgiveness" by the victims i took the sticker from. do i need a lawyer? should i hire one or get the one that the court can give me for free? what punishment do u think ill get with all in consideration? is it possible that they could drop it down to a misdemeaner? thank u for reading.. and thank you for your help.. darryll ps.. i live in california |
