Default Warrant Mistake!

Hi,
I was arrested for petty theft (1st time offense) paid $325 restitution. Went to court when I was suppose to and they told me to go to the clerks office because no files we made from the arresting officer. They told me to call back around 12pm. I did and they said no paperwork was sent, it probably wont be. If no paperwork is received in 24 hours, it will be most likely dismissed. I still called for the next 2 weeks just to make sure, nothing was ever sent. It's now 4 months later and I was pulled over last night and the cop said, did you know you have a warrant? I said no! Since that was the only time I was arrested in 27 years I new it had to be for the petty theft. I told him no paper work was ever filed, I called nothing was ever sent, never received anything in the mail. It has to be a misunderstanding. He said I'm not arresting you because it's only a $1000 warrant so turn yourself in. I have all the paperwork stamped from court saying I showed up voluntarily and receipts for the restitution. When I bring it to the station will they dismiss the warrant, or will I be arrested again and have to sit? I don't want to waste the money on bail if I have all the paperwork stating I was their. Whats the procedure for something like this? Please help me, I don't want to be arrested again for no reason.

Thanks for your time!
