I was arrested and charged with criminal trespass 2, Ive asked several officers what that means and had one even read it to me from the book yet im still getting charged with the crime, my record is clean up to this date and i would like to keep it that way.
This is how it went:
Coming back from a day of turning in applications, on foot, i met up with a few friends for the skate back home. They stopped off for a second in a parking lot for a new mini mall in our town, we were all sitting on our boards bs'ing when all the sudden a north bend officer rolls up seeing my friend with a cigarette in his mouth the officer proceeds to harass him, giving him an m.i.p. and a probation violation, thats his own fault his cigarettes i dont even smoke, so after that the cop turns to me and asks for id. Not knowing what was going on i didnt give him my id and calmly asked what the problem was. He told me that we were all being charged with criminal trespassing and asked again for my id. I then asked if we were under arrest still not knowing what i had done wrong. It seems that the people i met up with had been kicked out of that spot earlier for skateboarding i was totally unaware of this and now im here getting stuck with this charge, the other 2 that i was with didnt get charged with criminal trespassing just me. My court date is on the 7th of august and i need to know what to do as ive just been trampled on by this corrupted system all my life.

KRS 511.070 Criminal trespass in the second degree(1) A person is guilty of criminal trespass in the second degree when he knowingly enters or remains unlawfully in a building or upon premises as to which notice against trespass is given by fencing or other enclosure.(2) Criminal trespass in the second degree is a Class B misdemeanor I have never had any previous legal problems.Is this serious ? Do I need an attorney
