Rep Power: 0 | | Newbie just recieved a summons.. hi all. i have just registered in hope you can advice me. im in bits .
I shall try and cut a long story short..
Basically my dad remarried 2 years ago to someone who we ( his family ) didnt rate much... on benifits, claiming and working etc.. i hated her she had him round her little finger( he always been a hard working man) she also has a drink problem and they ague alot which results he coming to mine.. ( he brought me up from 8 months old due to my mother walking out)
he has always been there for me so i find i found it hard turning my back.
I have done well for myself thanks to a good upbring mortgage at 18 ( im now 24 on tuesday) im a prison officer and bring home a Ok pay.
he turns up during the night i let him stay , she shows up and kicks off ( not my cup of tea in my own street i do say )
he ended up moving up from may 2007 til jan 08 ( sorry for long post)
she turn up im threaten her with the police.. it all died down i was happy my dad told me he was seein someone new and wanted a divorce etc..
Until 2am 14/09/07 she turns up kicking my front door in, kicking my car, i went out in a panic to see who the hell it was with my mobile in hand to phone the police.. there my dads wife was wrecked totally drunk kicking my car, i approached her and she came towards me i was in a panic and slapped her.. being in a state she was in she fell straight to the floor , I RANG THE POLICE NOT HER by that time my dad had come down and picked her up telling her she was warned not to come to mine etc.. she accused my dad of hitting her not me ..that how drunk she was..
police took my statement that was it end of... until tonight a policeman knocks on my door and issues me a summons to court on the 3rd july for 'actual bodily harm'
Im fuming benefit cheating drunk takes me to court ???? how can that be.. i reported it, i work in a respectable force and never been in trouble yet the police are round her house like 10 times a year for domestic trouble...
my family are totally shocked this has happened...
also i may add in jan 08 whne i knew he was back seeing her i kicked HIM OUT , dropped his stuff off there never spoke to them, me and my dad aint spoke since.. and i changed my numbers and locks due to my dad not giving my key back..
If i am found guilty i will lose my job but i havnt done anything wrong i was protecting myself and property..
advice please
Natalie

Rep Power: 10 | | Re: Newbie just recieved a summons.. The night she came to your house kicking and screaming, did you get a written police report? If you were the caller, the report will have you noted as the caller. You should make sure you have a copy of that.
If she came to your residence, whatever the situation, the cards are already against her in my opinion. Your a court officer, I think your judgment would be taken into consideration to some extent.
Now you'll appear to face an accusation from someone who more than likely did not suffer any serious bodily harm, who you claim was erratic, not welcome to your home or property, and possibly or hopefully has a record (you say she gets domestic disputes often). I see a week case from the get go. My hunch says it will be dropped or reduced to a violation which would not cost you your job. I believe only a misdemeanor conviction would interfere with your position.
