Rep Power: 0 | | Charged with Misdemeanor, Pls Help!! Hi. I have a serious question, pls anyone who is able to help me, please do.
I was recently suspended from work for three days because i was found giving sale discounts to family members. I quit before the susp ension ended. This is how it came about.
I was called into the room at work. I was told that they know what i did, they just want to know why i did it. I told them it was an act of the moment, i did not consider how serious the consequences was. They briefly showed me a report they had with the transations details and discounts given. They came up with a loss of $631.17. I asked to have a copy or look at it more, i was refused. They had already calculated the charges before calling me in. I was only briefly shown the charges and discounts. They then took out a 'promissory note', in it, stating that they will not take a civil suit against me if i sigh that note and promise to pay them back. They told me that i will not have any more chances to sign it again. They will only offer it to me once. Also, they said that if i signed it, it will show better to the judge. I signed it, i was given a copy and thats all i have now.
Next, they called the police and said that they will let the police decide what to do with me. The officer asked me what i did, why i did it, how old am it and if i go to school. I am a sophomore college student. I am also 22 yrs old. He then told me that he will not arrest me but he will give me a citation for embezzlement.
My questions are 1)Shld i pay up the full amount of the loss immediately now so that it will be better for my case? 2) Shld i have done anything different and if the employee had the rights to do what they did? 3) What do you think is the chance that i will not go to jail for this but instead, fined? I dont have any prior convictions, im clean before this, i dont even have any speeding tickets nor traffic violations. Would the judge take into account of my good history before this? 4)I smy case something i can fight for or wld i be wasting my time?I am extremely remorseful and guilty. I am living in fear of the sentence i will receive. I made a mistake and I am very sorry for it. I asked that anyone who can help me with this questions to please answer them. I will be extremely greatful and appreciative of any help or advice. Thank you so much ahead of time. | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
