Is there a 3 strikes law in Texas? If so, how does it work? My daughter has a friend who goes to court this week charged with possession of meth. I believe this guy is dangerous and I'm horrified that my daughter thinks he's ok to be a friend....at least she claims they are only friends. I've been aware of his reputation for several years and did some research. That is how I found out about the meth charge. His adjudicated probation on a family assault was revoked because of this.
To get to the point-- He is a British citizen and according to my daughter will be deported because of a counterfeiting charge in 1998. Why wait 8 years to deport him? The charges that I've been able to find against him online are--
DRIVING-UNDER INFLU LIQ-DW 1995
Token or paper used as money 1996
ASSAULT 1996
ASSAULT 1999
THEFT-BY CHECK 1999
ASSAULT-FAMILY 2003
UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT 2003
Possession of Methamphetamine 2005

The meth charge is penalty group 1. I don't know what that means. Can someone give me an idea what will happen in court? Will he just get another scolding, or will someone please send him away. All of the assault charges have been from him beating his girlfriends. These are only the ones who filed charges. I don't think he's ever fought a man.
Also, where can I find out about his immigration status? Where can I look for his criminal record in the UK?
