Hello everyone. I have a couple of married friends who should not be married. The story has been told a million times, they tear each other apart, law gets involved, they have a whirlwind makeup, all is well, cycle repeats and so on and so forth. After another confrontation my male friend is now charged with aggravated assault and his 3rd FVPA charge (he has pleaded no contest to 2 others) The nurse at the hospital actually called the police and both her report and the report given by the officer who later interviewed the wife states that she reported and showed symptoms of fighting, being punched (severely swollen eye, bruised nose) and being choked unconscious. Needless to say, my male friend denies this and it doesn't look good. He met with the best defense attorney in our small town and he would not take the case, saying that it would be too much work and the only hope he had was if the wife got up and said that she lied to the nurse and police officer, which could put her in a very bad position with the DA. My friend is looking at 5-10 and 1-3. I'm concerned about his children's and wife's safety. I'm not saying he deserves to walk, but what can you tell me about what he's up against, his likely sentence and his lawyers advice. Thank you one and all. |
