Thumbs up calling yourself a company vs. org

me and two other friends have joined together to make a website...what are the differences in terms of tax benefits of calling ourself a company or an organization..also what procedures do i have to go through to call ourself a company or an organization

1. A company has to be incorporated in its home State. There are attorneys with sites who can help you with the formalities.
2. An organization would differ in that it may operate on a not-for-profit basis. Incorporation would make sense even in such a structure as it would spell out individual liabilities and working relationships with each other.
Maintaining an incorporated company or organization would cost money as there would be regular reporting and attorney's services involved.
Do not get into it until you have validated the plans that you have made between yourselves.
Do not keep the arrangement between yourselves verbal. Put it in writing. I can help you with this if you like.
I recommend that you start with only one of you taking financial and non-financial responsibility for the site. The other can provide contracted services through a specific written contract.

2. How do we go about forming a company

The structure of your company or organization will depend on what you wish to do and where you live. Please also recast the questions you have listed above in descriptive form.
