Default Please help!!!

My brother is facing these charges:

211 PC 2nd degree robbery, felony count 1, special allegation PC12022.53 (B) & 10 years MSP

459 PC 2nd degree commercial burglary, felony count 2, 12022, 5 (A) & 3-4-10

417 (A) (2) PC exhibiting a firearm misdemeanor – count 3

148 (A) (1) PC resisting, obstruction, delay of peace officer EMT misdemeanor – count 4

When all this happened, my brother was off his medication for diabetes, and we have two doctors say he was temporarily insane at the time of the incident. They have a witness that says my brother was obviously in an altered state when he was in the store & the only thing he wanted was cigarettes, which doesn't make any sense because he had money in his wallet.

My question is why are they offering my brother 12 years when he doesn't have a criminal record at all, he is a 52 year old man that we think had a nervous breakdown, no prior convictions, he never pulled the gun out of his waistband, and he never walked out with anything. I need advice, how do I help my brother beat this? We have a PD that we doesn't have time for us, please help!

Where can I look on the internet or the library for cases similar to my brother so that I can bring them to court - thank you very much in advance!
