Rep Power: 0 | | Advice on receiving payment from small claims debtor About 1.5 years ago I sued in small claims and won in the state of KS. The case was against a roommate who had moved out and stopped paying...she was on the lease and had cosigned parents. We're college students and family lived out of state, which made action against her parents (the cosigners) a lot of work.
Anyways, we sued the gal and won awhile ago. The defendant's family is loaded and at the good advice of their lawyer, had the defendant fill out the Judgement Debtor's Statement of Assets as a broke college student---the girl quit her job, gave her parents whatever $$ she had, etc. Even her car is in their name. This family isn't the type that'll pay their daughters debt's (they don't hold her accountable for her actions) so previous emails and rational attempts to get the money have been fruitless.
Is there anything I can do to get the money now? I have her current address and current employment information.
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
