Rep Power: 0 | | Leaving the country after being arrested? I recently was charged with possession in the fifth degree. My court date is in late February. I am supposed to be going to the Dominican Republic next week with my family, who does not know about the trouble I had gotten myself into. Will I be allowed to leave the country even though I have a court date for something such as possession, and if I may leave the country, do you think they'd give me a hard time? If someone could answer this question, it would be deeply appreciated. Thank you. |

As long as you show up for your court date, I think you can leave.... 5th degree sounds like a misdemeanor, and if so, you should not have to worry at all... If it is a felony, than I'm not sure, but I am getting the feeling that you're fine as long as you show up to court on the appearance date.
