Rep Power: 0 | | How do I get a Capias lifted? I got a warrant issued because I wasn't in the courtroom when my case was called. I left after being called for one case and went upstairs to another civil case at 10 A.M. So I have a warrant I feel was undeserved. But I can't afford a no bond jail stay. what can I do? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: How do I get a Capias lifted? Did you check in with the first court to let them know you were there?
Did you tell the first court you had another court appearance scheduled for the same day?
Did you let the court clerk or bailiff know you were leaving to attend the other case, so they'd know to delay calling your case until you'd returned, or where to reach you if they couldn't delay?
Did you go back to the first court after you were finished in the second?
Did you use any common sense at all in dealing with a clear scheduling conflict?
I mean, C'mon! You had to know beforehand you couldn't be in two places at once! UNDESERVED? A judge would laugh if you said that. The only way you can get this lifted is suck it up and turn yourself in and do the time. The longer you evade it the longer you will sit in jail. Depending on the nature of the case will also determine how long you sit in the pen too. | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
