Rep Power: 0 | | Desparate:help with serious traffic violation As the saying goes, "no good deed goes unpunished". I was following a friend to a service station because her car had overheated. I was to drive her home after she dropped off her car. Got pulled over bt cops who said we passed a school bus with stop sign and flashers. Neither of us saw it. It was a narrow 2 lane street. We both got tickets.
I have never had a moving violation and only a few parking tickets, which I beat in the 30 years I have been driving.
The tariff is $362.50 and it could carry 5 points.
I am a wreck about it, and pretty unhappy.
Is there anything I can say or do to get rid of points and/or lower fine?
Thank you,
Sherry |

I know how you feel... I got one of those about 5 years age and the worst part about it is that to this day I truely believe that I did not pass the bus while the lights where flashing and that it engaged the llights as I had already passed the vehicle...
Nontheless, I was convicted of the infraction...
You need to go to court and try to fight the ticket. I would bring your friend as a witness and state your position. You have a 30 year clean driving record, and in my opinion, that says a good deal about your driving... You shoudl be able to get it at least reduced...
You can weight the pros and cons, but if I were in your position, I wouldn't just plead guity and pay it...

I have to go to court anyway as this is being treated like I am one degree less than committing vehicular homicide.
I am going to hire a lawyer brcause I don't want all those points.
Hard lesson.
Thanks again
