Rep Power: 0 | | Just a question Hi there, Just want to ask a question about this company that came to my door non stop for about a month trying to get me to switch to their company. I didn't switch for the longest time and then one day they came and we were having some family issue's and it was really kaotic in our home that day. I said just give me the paper and I will sign it. I just wanted to get rid of them. About 10 days later so they tell me I can't remember but apparently they called me on a Sunday to boot and said they recorded me saying YES that I signed up. Oh my God what a nightmare, Our hydro has tripled. We are a low income family and we pay almost as much for hydro as we do our Mortgage in one month.
The first bill we received from them was for $1459.00 for a 3 month period I couldn't believe it. We have lived here for 3 years and the highest bill we have ever received in the dead of winter was only $900.00 for a 3 month period. I have called them and tried talking to them saying there is no way we can afford this we will end up loosing our home because we can't afford the bills. All they could say was " You clearly say YES on the recording, Well that helps!!! We just received out new bill the other day and this bill is $1389.00 for a 3 month period, our house is only 1200 square feet and we keep everything shut off, we have not used the oven or stove we BBQ and I don't use the dryer. I have called the Ontario Energy Board for help and they e-mailed Universal Energy and asked them to please reconsider our contract because we are a low income family. They ofcourse would not, they want $1500.00 to break the contract. It's insane. I told the supervisor that the person that came to my door did not explain it to us properly, we were told that our bill would be locked in at the hydro price of our current company for 5 years, we thought it was a good deal, when in fact what he was suppose to tell us is that it would be locked in at their current rates for 5 years. So they lied. I have researched online other people dealing with this and they have also been lied to and tricked into signing and harrassed at the door. I just want to know what I can do about this. There is no way we can go on like this. | | Domain Names Sponsor | | |
